Omega-3 - which fatty acids are important?
Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids and include the three main representatives alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). These fatty acids are of fundamental importance for the human organism. However, as only a small proportion of DHA and EPA can be synthesised in the body from the ALA commonly found in food, it is crucial to obtain sufficient quantities of these essential fatty acids from food or food supplements.
In view of the large number of omega-3 products on the market, we have opted for a particularly high-dose, vegan variant obtained from algae oil. Algae are the original source of omega-3 fatty acids, as they are the primary food source for wild fish and therefore form the basis of the omega-3 supply. Our capsules therefore offer a sustainable and natural alternative to conventional fish oil sources.
A daily dose of nutri+ Omega-3 (2 capsules) contains 1100 mg omega-3 fatty acids, including 600 mg docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and 300 mg eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) as well as 30 % of the NRV of natural vitamin E.
Omega-3 fatty acids fulfil a variety of biological functions:
DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and the maintenance of normal vision
DHA and EPA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure, normal blood triglyceride levels and normal heart function
Our omega-3 capsules are developed by our nutritionists in Germany and produced under the strictest quality standards (IFS Food and GMP).
