Description
PMS: What is it?
PMS, pronounced premenstrual syndrome, refers to various physical and psychological complaints depending on the menstrual cycle. The symptoms of PMS occur about four to fourteen days before the onset of menstruation and improve abruptly with the onset of menstruation. They are varied and individual, and the severity of the condition also varies greatly from woman to woman. Possible physical symptoms include fatigue, headaches, edema, skin changes, food cravings, sleep disturbances, and circulatory problems. Psychological symptoms may include the following: Mood swings, listlessness or listlessness, hypersensitivity, irritability and concentration problems. About three quarters of all women of childbearing age complain of premenstrual symptoms.
Which hormones are missing in PMS?
Although PMS is a widespread female condition, it is not yet scientifically clear exactly what causes it. What is certain is that PMS is linked to fluctuations in the female hormone balance: Here, there is probably primarily an imbalance of the two hormones estrogen and progesterone. After ovulation, progesterone is increasingly produced and estrogen levels decrease. In the second half of the cycle (i.e. before the onset of menstruation), the cycle is therefore controlled by progesterone. Some women are already extremely sensitive to this change.
Other factors that promote PMS include stress, smoking, alcohol, lack of sleep and exercise, and an unhealthy diet.
The BVF (Professional Association of Gynecologists) and the DGGG (German Society of Gynecology) therefore recommend that PMS symptoms should be treated with a low-fat and vitamin-rich diet, regular exercise, and avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine as much as possible.

We recommend taking 4 capsules once a day without chewing with sufficient liquid (e.g. a glass of water). Ideally, the capsules should always be taken at the same time and over a longer period of time. The capsules can be taken independently of meals. However, if you have a sensitive stomach, you should ideally take the capsules after a meal.
In case of simultaneous use of medicines, you should consult your doctor. For example, the St. John's wort extract contained in the product can reduce the effect of birth control pills and blood thinners. In addition, you should refrain from taking other calcium-containing dietary supplements, as they already contain 1000 mg of calcium (equivalent to 125% of the NRV).
