Post-workout
Ideal supplements after a workout
For effective training, not only the workout itself is important, but also the right regeneration afterwards. The so-called post-workout phase includes everything that happens after the workout to provide the body with optimal care.
Post-workout supplements are food supplements that are taken after training. These include L-glutamine, essential (EAA) and branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) and post-workout shakes that contain a combination of different ingredients.
Why is the post-workout phase so important?
During training, muscles are stressed, glycogen stores are depleted and electrolytes are lost through sweat. The body therefore needs nutrients and rest after a hard workout in order to regenerate.
If you don't allow your body to regenerate after training, this can lead to an increased risk of injury and a drop in performance.
Important to-dos after a workout
✓ Stretching: Stretching improves flexibility and can reduce muscle tension.
✓ Cool down: Light endurance training for around 10 minutes at the end of a workout helps to slowly lower the heart rate.
✓ Fluid balance: Sufficient water helps to restore the fluid balance.
✓ Electrolyte balance: Sweating causes the body to lose important electrolytes, which need to be returned to the Body.
✓ Protein intake: Proteins contribute to an increase and maintenance of muscle mass. Ideally, these should be consumed after training.
✓ Carbohydrate intake: Glycogen stores should be refilled quickly after a workout.
Post-workout supplements at a glance:
Post-workout shakes: Our recovery shake has an optimal ratio of various macro and micronutrients that lead to an ideal supply of nutrients for the body after a workout.
L-glutamine: L-glutamine is one of the semi-essential amino acids. This means that this amino acid becomes essential especially during stress or high physical exertion. It must therefore be supplied to the body from outside.
EAA/BCAA: Essential amino acids (EAA incl. BCAA) cannot be produced by the body and must therefore be supplied through food or dietary supplements. They are particularly important for building Proteins.
