Calcium tablets
Calcium is a vital mineral that plays a central role in the health of bones and teeth. At around one kilogram, it is the most important mineral in the human body in terms of quantity. Around 99% of the calcium found in the body is found in our bones and teeth, where calcium makes a significant contribution to the stability of these structures.
The effects of calcium in the body at a glance:
- Calcium is needed to maintain normal teeth
- Calcium is needed to maintain normal bones
- Calcium has a function in cell division and specialization
- Calcium contributes to the normal function of digestive Enzymes
- Calcium contributes to normal signal transmission between nerve cells
- Calcium contributes to normal muscle function
- Calcium contributes to normal energy metabolism
- Calcium contributes to normal blood clotting
Although the positive effects of calcium are well known, according to the National Nutrition Survey II, most adults and children do not consume the amount recommended by the German Nutrition Society (DGE). Although this does not automatically mean that there is a deficiency, an insufficient intake of calcium can indicate a possible deficiency. It is therefore important to ensure a balanced diet in the long term in order to guarantee the calcium supply. As calcium is mainly contained in milk (products), it is particularly important to ensure sufficient calcium intake when following a vegan diet.
nutri+ Calcium Tablets
Our nutri+ Calcium Tablets provide your body with high-quality calcium. Each tablet contains pure calcium carbonate - a natural calcium compound with a particularly high proportion of elemental calcium of almost 40 %. This means that it has a significantly higher content than many other calcium compounds. This form of calcium is also characterized by its high bioavailability, which means that the body can absorb the calcium it contains particularly well.
Two tablets per day provide the body with 800 mg calcium and therefore exactly 100 % of the daily nutrient reference value (NRV) - the product is therefore ideally dosed to cover your daily calcium requirement.

Calcium in old age
Calcium absorption can decrease with increasing age. As the supply of calcium, together with sufficient exercise and vitamin D, plays a major role in preventing osteoporosis, an adequate supply of calcium is particularly important for the health of older people.
Osteoporosis is a disease of the skeletal system in which bone density decreases and bones lose stability. To counteract this, the German Society of Osteology (DVO) recommends a daily calcium intake of 1000 mg for prevention. With two nutri+ calcium tablets a day, you take in 800 mg of high-quality calcium.
Calcium for athletes
Calcium is not only important for strength athletes, but also for endurance athletes and anyone who exercises regularly. It is needed to maintain normal bones and contributes to normal energy metabolism. Calcium also plays a central role in the smooth interaction of muscles and nerves.
During physical exertion, the need for calcium increases as it is consumed more and excreted through sweat.

We deliberately chose pure calcium carbonate for our product, as this natural source of calcium contains almost 40 % elemental calcium. This is significantly more than many other calcium compounds, which often only contain around 20 %. This means you can take in more calcium with fewer tablets.
Typical signs of a deficiency are dry skin, brittle nails, muscle cramps, tingling in the arms and legs, tooth and bone pain and even cardiac arrhythmia.
In the event of a prolonged calcium deficiency, the body draws on the calcium reserves in the bones to maintain blood levels. This gradually breaks down the bone substance, which can lead to unstable bones in the long term. The result: bone softening - known as osteomalacia in adults and rickets in children.
The absorption of calcium in the body can be reduced by certain substances such as oxalic acid and phytic acid. These so-called inhibitors bind calcium and make it more difficult to absorb. However, as they are found in healthy foods such as vegetables and wholegrain products and have positive effects on health, they should not be avoided.
Calcium is excreted in the urine - this loss can be increased by a high intake of phosphate-containing foods, coffee or alcohol.
Vitamin D is important for calcium absorption: The body can only utilize calcium optimally if there is a sufficient supply. A vitamin D deficiency can significantly limit absorption.
Certain medications or chronic intestinal diseases can also impair calcium absorption.
If you consume significantly too much calcium over a long period of time, this can increase the calcium concentration in the blood. Possible consequences are urinary stones or impaired kidney function.
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has therefore set a limit value: Up to 2,500 mg of calcium per day - from food and food supplements combined - is considered safe for adults. At 800 mg per day, our tablets are naturally well below this value and are therefore designed as a safe and supportive supplement in everyday life.
